Shopping in Paris | France

Paris is the capital city of France and is located in Île-de-France region, on the Seine River, with an estimated population of 2,153,600 inhabitants. Paris is an economic centre, learning and cultural city.Paris fashion is well known around the world, many famous fashion designers make their events in this city; such as Paris Fashion week and many students also come here to learn their craft at the 'Paris.

During the first to fifth century Paris was called Lutetia but after this period it adopted its actual name. Paris is sometimes called 'The City of Light' because its cultural life and intellectual pre-eminence and also for its beautiful appearance. The French capital is one of the most wonderful cities around the world, a metropolis that satisfied all tourists' expectation and more, Paris has a seductive atmosphere.

It goes without saying that no trip to Paris is complete without taking a peek at 'Le tour d'Eiffel'. It's better to go at night when the laser lights up the city; it's pretty incredible view, especially from the very top level. There are so many other cultural places to visit, such as 'Le Sacre Coeur' and the Palace of Versailles. Really a weekend is not long enough! France is a wonderful destination for families, couples, backpackers and singletons! It has everything to offer from fantastic vineyards to classical architecture. French people are fiercely proud of their country and rightly so, it is a great country with many adventures on offer and wonderful shops to splash all your cash.

The French invented with word 'chic', the whole country oozes glamour and understated style. It's true to say that French women can make a jumper and jeans look sophisticated. How do they get it so right? Some of the worlds most famous fashion houses began in France from Chanel to Dior, if you want to indulge yourself, then shopping should certainly be on your agenda.

The best time to visit France is simply - all year round. Winter for cosy nights and 'Chocolate Chaud', Summer for walks along 'Le Siene' and Spring for clear night and stunning views. 4th Le Marais is one of the best areas for shopping. It has everything from designer boutiques to unknown local artists. It's also the best place to visit on Sundays, when the rest of Paris shopping district closes, but Le Marais comes alive.

8th Champs-Elysées & George IV used to be the beacon of Paris shopping, famed for its prestige but sadly has lost its way to many fast food chains in recent times. However it is still a great destination for the views of the Arc de Triomphe for people watching. You will find many Parisian luxury brands still around the George IV metro stop, such as Louis Vuitton for leather goods and Creed the perfumery.

9th Boulevard Haussmann is where two of the most famous rivals stores Printemps and Galeries Lafayette are found side-by-side. This is a great destination for a one-stop-shop experience, where everything can be found under one roof.

8th Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré – Haute Couture shops such as Hermès and Gucci, and many other international luxury brand names. This place is the crème de la crème. If you want to avoid funny looks and bad service, a word of warning its best to wear something a little more 'polished'. Great place for window shopping!
